THE HORROR OF SOCIETY

This week all we get is the ripples of Violence, Hatred, Killing.

The butchery of babies in Germany by religious traditions.

The destruction of Life by euthanasia and abortion.

The waste of life, the destruction of life by using Drugs and Drink.

The lack of compassion by some hospital staff.

Footballers behaving like fools.

The whole of the Mid-East ravaged by butchery.

In Northern Ireland division and hatred.

Much lies and spin.

No respect.

So we see a pattern, and like vicious circle, never broken – one thing leads to another, hatred leads to killing, killing leads to hatred.

The Drugs and Drink leads to lies, death, sadness, suffering, affairs.

The lack or care, concentration and compassion leads to death, when you’re ill, in Hospital and vulnerable.

Distorted religious beliefs lead to violence, and the butchery of babies.

Euthanasia, lack of respect for Human Life.

All Killing is wrong.

Korean stone Buddha in earth-touching postureWe may embark upon the Buddhist path with all sincerity in terms of wanting to answer those inner, sometimes unformed questions. We may really want to know for ourselves what life is all about—why were we born? What is the purpose of it all? What will happen to us when we die?

The Buddha asked himself similar questions, and after some years of searching came to extremely subtle, profound, and liberating truths—and these were truths, not beliefs; they were self-evident, obvious actualities. The view of himself as an individual, as ‘this person Siddhartha Gautama’, dissolved when he saw beyond thoughts, and he woke up as if from a dream. In consequence, he knew freedom from the horrors of the dreamlike existence that many, perhaps most, of us are engaged in right now. His life then opened out into the immediate, the spontaneous, that which is beyond thoughts, beyond views and…

Better Together isn’t about wild claims, nasty nationalism. If we look at the mess Scotland is in, the lack of SNP credible policies. The lack of vision, that in 2016 will leave Scotland in a very vulnerable position. SNP want the Queen, Bank Of England, The Pound, they also claim they could join the EU/Euro. People will have to pay far more tax. The Oil will run out at some point, then what? we’ll slowly freeze to death during winter because somebody in the SNP listened to advice from the Scottish Green party. So after careful thought we are Better Together. You can interact with the site, they have a video and other material.

I haven’t seen the Yes site, so I can’t comment.

Regarding your other comments, there’s lots of spin, second hand news that some blogger read from another blog, that didn’t bother reading or listening to one fact with own eyes, nor ears; I’m talking about Welfare cuts. The other cuts are the fault of SNP who are given a grant, but if SNP don’t use the money wisely, they make cuts.

There is also anti English discrimination, and also, the love of Northern Ireland.

Nationalism is dirty and disgraceful.

Independence maybe one day, but not under SNP rule.

A Burdz Eye View

Last week, Better Together – the no campaign that isn’t – launched.  I waited for the analysis, the acres of print picking apart every sentence and nuance and then putting it all back together again in a form that suits the journalists.  But there was very little, except for in the Scotsman for whom keeping the referendum in the news has become an obsession.  Whether we like it or not.

Either the journalists were largely content with the launch’s achievements or – after two hours of hearing earnest testimony from ordinary people – they were bored into submission.

But apart from a nice speech from Alistair Darling – and let’s not be churlish, it was a good speech – there was nothing really to report.  It’s not even clear who’s leading this charabanc.  Darling yes, but Johann Lamont was there too.  Apparently, Annabel Goldie and Charles Kennedy represent the other…

Burmese Stupa Photo © John AskeImagine a person who feels completely healthy, completely free of all illness, sickness and physical disability. Wouldn’t it be ridiculous for that person to get medicine? What would be the point of that? What would be the rationale in getting medicine when you feel completely healthy? Those people who don’t see any problems, who are not aware of any dukkha, unsatisfactoriness, in their lives, what would be the point in their attempting to study the dhamma and to practise meditation?

If you are new to this thing called ‘dhamma’, and new to meditation, then you are not expected to immediately agree that you have all sorts of problems and are suffering from many burdens in life. However, if you are not completely sure that your health is perfect, you could examine yourself, you could get to know yourself and find out what kind of shape you are in.

Poverty Unemployment Caste -The Three Dangers

As you can see below, the importance of freedom – away from poverty, in employment with a decent wage. Also the dangers of the Caste system that even today, causes much harm to people within Hindu community.

The point is, if,  people are trapped within Unemployment, on little income, then branded as a lesser individual – then people suffer, they get angry.

If people are employed, wealthy and, free; they are happy individuals

Poverty. In the Cakkavatti-Sihanāda Sutta (Digha Nikāya 26), the Buddha describes the progressive degeneration of society after a negligent king allows poverty to arise, ending in a ‘sword interval’ when all fight against all. He recognised that people in poverty have little opportunity for spiritual practice, so for hungry people, material improvement must come before spiritual.

Employment. In one sutta, the Buddha tells of a wise chaplain who advises a king who wants to make a great sacrifice. He tells him not to waste resources on a vanity project while his kingdom is ‘beset by thieves’, but to invest in making sure that people have the means of making a living. “To those in the kingdom who are engaged in cultivating crops and raising cattle, let Your Majesty distribute grain and fodder; to those in trade, give capital; to those in government service assign proper living wages. Then those people, being intent on their own occupations, will not harm the kingdom. Your Majesty’s revenues will be great; the land will be tranquil and not beset by thieves; and the people, with joy in their hearts, playing with their children, will dwell in open houses.” (From K̄ūṭadanta Sutta, Digha Nikāya 5).

Caste. Buddhist monks had to give up their caste when they joined the sangha and the Buddha argued strongly against the idea that any caste was superior to another. See for instance Assalāyana Sutta (Majjhima Nikāya 93).

Huge regional variation in patients having diabetes care checks – Diabetes UK

Huge regional variation in patients having diabetes care checks – Diabetes UK.

Getting checked is important, but sadly it is somewhat patchy depending on where you live.  My experience in Scotland is that I get two checks a year. They take my blood, check my feet, and if I’m lucky I get a letter inviting me for an eye scan, usually very late.

I usually see two-three nurses, no, not specialist! that forget this n’ that, they have a negative outlook, and treat me as if I am unaware of my Type 2 Diabetes.

Then they write, and I am sure the letter doesn’t reflect the on screen information. It is odd.

It is all very, very…. but it could be worse. I’m grateful to have been caught early.

My main problem is that although I have no injections, nor medication. My blood has sunk to 2.8 mmol/L and 3.8 mmol/L within 6 months. This has been happening for years.

Why do I get these hypos? is it dangerous? YES! Does the GP listen, nah!

The problem with the Left in Britain

It is getting worse, but better in different ways within the UK. Much is being destroyed, the very fabric of all we know.

The state is vastly inflated, yet delivers very little, because it has made cuts in the front line services, while paying inflated salaries, too much duplication. Building offices, too much centralized services. But who suffers? it is always the Poor, the hard working people, that pay, pay, pay, but get nothing back.

The Police, The NHS, The Education system is being shaken up, people are being told to do a decent job.

Now don’t get me wrong, as a Libertarian Socialist, I see liberty, as being very important, I also see the state, as being too big. I can see that Less is More, sometimes if THE SICK LEAVE HOSPITAL FITTER, THE CHILDREN LEAVE SCHOOL BRIGHTER, THE STREETS ARE SAFER..

So why is it that the Guardian and lefty bloggers are so upset?

Do they want thick children? Do they want sick people? Do they want unsafe streets?

Why have twice the amount required in a public service? if the service is twice as bad, as if it had half as many workers?

The other point is this; Carers get a bad deal, but people on JSA get more, while carers actually do far more.

Should we just say to Job Seekers, ‘here you go’ put your feet up, go to the pub, and we will keep paying you a benefit? What is wrong with, and only if, it is some form of work, that is equal to the JSA benefit. So, 40 hours a week isn’t fair but 16 hours a week is. That’s, what? 2 hours a day. or less.

The other thing that amazes me is the fact that so much spin, is delivered on the subject of Public Services, Welfare, reforms. Why is the left, so negative?

I don’t want to have reduced Liberty, I don’t want a Marxist universe, because Marxism is backward, outdated, destroys morality.

We see Gender, Race, Creed, Ethnicity, Childhood, Adulthood all being replaced and jumbled up into the dream of Marxism or, Cultural Marxism a politically correct system of labels, quotas and dangerous ideas, that reduce your Liberty.  Less choices, and only, the approved will be allowed. 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 are great examples, along with Brave New World, of how we are in danger of being enslaved to an authoritarian dictatorship.

Today we see a battle between Liberty and Totalitarianism.

How many more wind turbines? Cameras in the sky spying on us?

The acceptance of Euthanasia and Eugenics, life is seen as something that isn’t worth any value, thanks to Humanist and Social Darwinist agenda. Life is regarded as something that is similar to garbage; we throw it away. Death isn’t respected for what it is, and ultimately, will be for everything eventually.

If we do good things, grasp Liberty, show kindness by helping the vulnerable; we are all vulnerable to life changes, that can affect us all at anytime.

The left, really need to grow-up,  see things as they really are; dazed and confused since the 1960s. They disagree on anything, just to be tribal, rather than doing what is morally correct. I am on the left, but don’t see myself as Marxist. I support the ideas of Labour across the UK. That doesn’t mean I’m a supporter of the Right, but more a Blue Labour type. I believe Proudhon, was closer to Labour, than Marx. That doesn’t make less of a lefty. But having witnessed lately how dangerous, misguided and regressive some on the LEFT,  really are I fear for the Liberty of all people, that have an opinion, because if they don’t agree, they take your liberty away, they declare an inquisition, then slander you. I have been on many Forums, and they all seem to be controlled by a clique, some can attack you, but you mustn’t have an opinion. The Left hate Freedom, they hate choice. Most are liars. They can never be trusted, never turn your back, never believe anything they write or say.

Labour need to be on their guard, stop the trots from trying to get in, via various tactics. I read the bloggers, they have weird blogger sites, that allow people to be slandered, but you cannot defend yourself.

Is it wrong to attack Carers and Disabled? It is wrong, very wrong, but that doesn’t stop one clique from doing just that,  then self promoting themselves as the ‘saviours’ of all other disabled, but when you look, you see they are  speaking just for themselves. Many disagree, but get silenced, or shouted down as a troll, or some right wing nutter. When in fact, it is them that are dangerous. The tribal left, are very dangerous, they attack Labour while trying to creep up, and  change it.

Today press is being driven by this ‘Tribal left’ agenda, when they attack Gove for wanting to make Children wiser; see it is easier to brainwash sheep, than it is, if the mind is strong, and independent. The Left hate that.

The left also hate the fact that people should, and will get better care.

The Left also hate the fact that, the Police will soon be owned, not by the state, but be independent and will actually restore justice.

The Left, are the hard left, the ‘Liberal’ left as in chaos, via negative Liberty.

They want humanity poisoned and enslaved with drugs, no age of consent, no gender, no race, no colour, no individual minds. They want a Uniform, one size fits all society, in the image of Marx, who is the ‘God’ of Marxism. Although, Karl Marx was long dead, before the fools, created a new recipe.

You can never argue with the type of ‘Left’ I described, because, their mind is mangled, they lack free will, and free thought.

Do the Left care about Gay people? of course they don’t, because they’re just a stepping stone. Do they care about Racism? of course they don’t, because it is just a stepping stone. Do they care about anything? No, nothing at all. They are empty, void of everything that is Human, Just like the Hard Right.

So under Labour, decent people need to join, then we can smash the illusion, and break free, then get a society that cares about Humans, all Humans, because it is a natural feeling to do so.

I don’t believe that everyone on the Left and Right are bad. I also believe, that the non-political Green movement is a good thing, because we care about the place we live, and need it.

I don’t believe all Humanist are bad, in the sense of being misguided, sucked in by political agenda.

Even Buddhism has been infiltrated by minds, out to damage it, make it into Humanism, Hinduism etc, etc. These types haven’t read, the genuine article.

Stringing all this edit together is impossible, so it is just me ranting nonsense, or IS it?

Less imports, less consumerism, less greed, is the key to less suffering.

More growth, more acceptance of right thinking and, the action that follow.

Imagine a factory in each street; manufacturing, employing, making people feel secure. Can we be happy with less? I think it is possible, with the right state of mind that is uncluttered by TV.

Just be happy with yourself, those around you, and enjoy!
